Best iOS app for station departure boards?

My problem with the current apps e.g. from the ToCs is that they require so much clicking about.

I basically want to see the equivalent of the departure board at the station, so just the next few departures in a list with the platform. Ideally something that would pick up my location automatically and just instantly show me the departure board, rather than having to click around, and have loads of other features.

I have used the RailBoard (https://www.railboard.com/) app for a few years; it is hands down one of the best departure board apps out there. It's nice and simple to use and you can also toggle on coach formations, platform forecasts and headcodes through settings.

Why is it that some of these kind of apps aren't made for Android. This might actually be something I'd consider using, but the devs seemingly can't be bothered to work a version for the platform.

It’s quite simple. Making a good app for each platform requires double the effort as they’re not compatible with each other and require different languages, etc. the whole model is different on both. Sure, you can use the libraries that allow you to have one app on each platform but that means they’re, in general, a load of crud on both.

I use the old National Rail Enquiries app, whose functionality is simple and presentation brilliant. It still works and pulls the data fine, but isn't on brand any more. They ruined the app when they replaced it with bright colours, huge fonts and unnecessary complexity.

I had to download the old version specially from an unofficial link and disable automatic app updates on my phone to stop it being replaced by the new version.

Other than that, I have Railboard which is ok.

It's dev singular, so I don't think "can't be bothered" is accurate!

What's been built for iOS singlehandedly is better than some output I've seen from entire development teams, particularly given the constantly shifting requirements that apply to operating in retail.

I miss the ByTrain app which was hands down the cleanest and slickest iOS train departures app.

I currently use the app called 'UK Live Train Times' but the navigation is clunky. Especially when you quickly want to see departures at your nearest station

I just found one called 'Train Board' which seems to be quite nice. Seems quite slick and loaded my nearest station departures on the first page as I opened it.

Another vote for Railboard, it’s simple and clean and does what it says on the tin. I used to use the national rail app until they had the awful redesign.

I had a look at https://tiger.worldline.global/home and liked it but tbere were some stations missing includimg my home town. As, i believe, this is the data for departure boards that can be bought and set up for your home station. Does anyone know if some if the smaller stations do not appear on tne departure board product. I am Interested as i would like to purchase one at some point
