I must admit, i do enjoy family guy, but it really is blatant plaigirism of the simpsons, especially the earlier seasons!!

That's because I found personal bereavment more amusing. Me an my friend christened it 'Not Gonna Laugh'. Especially with the added humour vacuum of Tim Vine. Just not my kind of humour

My personal favourites are Fawlty Towers (they didn't go on and on and tarnish it like Only Fools), Blackadder (2&3 particularly), League of Gentleman, most things done by Steve Coogan and Chris Morris, Spaced and Big Train and Q Milligan. I generally hate the appalling American imports that are called comedy, with their blatant setup and 'slap in the face' lines, just to make sure our simpleton cousins can spot the gag. This is all just my opinion though

Father Ted, it's on 4od so always good when nothing else to watch.

One of the worst I've every watched is Lee Nelson's Well Good Show on BBC3. No idea what kind of idiot would find that show funny, or why it was comissioned in the first place. I'd like to give him a Well Good Kicking In.

Father Ted is one of those timeless comedies... still so funny even now. Hard to believe it's been 12 years since Dermot Morgan passed on.

Father Ted is the best comedy ever made!! They're still hilarious even now. I always liked Blackadder as well. I haven't found any decent new comedy at the moment. I used to like Have I Got News For You and Mock The Week, but they seem to be getting repetitive - repeating the same jokes about the same people over and over again. Either that or I'm seeing too many repeats of them on Dave!!!

Anyone remember Chelmsford 1-2-3????? God I wish there was a box set of that one!

Now that is a comedy that takes me back, about the only thing rory bremner done that made me laugh! It was excellent.

Father Ted is great

Being in IT, I've never liked the IT Crowd as a) it's not very funny & b) I've worked several places which are far funnier, e.g. Sociopathic computer operators and project managers trying deal with hordes of indian 'consultants' who are behaving like headless chickens

And there was also the colleague who rang a bell everytime a fit bird walked past. That was confiscated after he failed to ring it for one of the quite fit senior managers

for some reason I can't stop laughing in total wipe-out, for some strange reason people constantly falling over is so funny, other than that a classic British comedy is usually pretty good. I hate all these American imports, they are too in your face, it is the subtle humour that I find funny

Nothing even comes close to it.

I do like Family Guy too, I don't think its trying to be like The Simpsons, infact I think its kinda the other way around, I think in the newer Simpsons (We're looking at 03 onwards here) they're trying to be too much like Family Guy, I've noticed they've started doing cut away gags and other humour in a simaler way to FG. The Simpsons is good, but in its own way, so they don't need to be like Family Guy.

The UK version with Hammond (Richard not Philip) commentating is mildly amusing, the American version with the John and John show is typically full of crappy American host jokes which just are not funny - "Good night, and Big Balls" being one of the worst

Im not really a fan of most current comedies. The only really good show still running is South Park.

Fortunately, we have the old classics to keep us going like Blackadder, Fawlty Towers, Friends, and early Simpsons.

But the best comedy ever has to be Hancock's half Hour.

The Big Bang Theory is a good comedy. My favourite character is Sheldon, the guy who almost certainly has Aspergers! Lots of people (including myself) can relate to him.

My top 10 in no particular order - Black Books, IT Crowd (back this week - Yay!), Spaced, Green Wing, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, League of Gentleman, Marion and Geoff, Family Guy, Father Ted.
