Class 86 Great liveries are Electric Blue (On 86101Sir William A Stanier FRS, but soon to be applied to 86213 Lancashire Witch) ,Old Virgin Livery, Freightliner Heavy Haul (Class 70 Livery) ,NSE Livery and Europhenix Red and Silver as applied to 86247, 86 701 Orion and 86 702 Cassiopeia.
I agree with you about Intercity livery but the same can be said for Anglia Railways, Electric Light Blue (as applied to 86 259 Les Ross-which should disappear soon) and Yellow of Network Rail and the grey on 86 633. The Freightliner Standard Green Livery is okay.

I love the Pendolino for Railworks in Intercity Swallow livery. Looks amazing.

This 371 has confused me. But not much.

I think its a 378. Looks good like that, I agree. Certainly more exciting than the LO standard. Which I also think is OK, because it's distinctive.

NOTE: I meant 378 Capitalstar, sorry.

I think the current Virgin livery suites DVTs, Coaches, Voyagers and Pendolinos.
Can't Virgin or a ROSCO buy one of the DBS 90s and paint it in the new Virgin livery for the Pretendolino so they don't have to hire locos from Freightliner.

Slightly off topic but has a Freightliner 86 ever worked the Pretendolino and will the Pretendolino disappear once all 4 new 11 car Pendolinos are in service

Best is probably Grand Central currently. Worst I would say is Northern as it always looks dated to me. The best ever were Intercity swallow livery and Regional Railways on the 158's. . . .

If anyone would like to see where East Midlands Trains got their ideas for their 156/153 liveries from look no further than the "Southwest Airlines" in America!

The East Coast livery is simple, but it stands out.

I have to say, I really don't like it. The base colours are alright, though somewhat bland, but the stripe is vile. It's a horrible colour and doesn't sit at all well on the trains.
I'm amazed that they've managed to make the 225s look crap. Even the white stripe interim livery looked better.

The stripe definitely needs a re-think. I like the way East Midlands HST's have gold dots under the windows for First Class, something like that would look better.

Grand Central livery works brilliantly on the 180s, as does Hull Trains dynamic lines.

the 'One' livery I found very 'stylish' , and the deep blue on our own 150/1 minus the decals at FGW look great, Freightliner Green and Yellow for a freight company for me

I tried to get his GNER, but it didn't work! Shame, as it looked good, and it was one of the few Trainz 2004 consists that actually had proper windows!

Nonetheless, I've got Railworks now, and enough HST Power til the end of time!

My personal view is the 90s era of Regional Railways, NSE, InterCity (Swallow) Railfreight Triple Gray and Civil Engineers (Dutch) were the best for liveries. I liked all these. The original Scotrail livery is a favourite.

Dislikes from this period Railfreight Grey without and with red stripe this did not work. CE grey before the addition of the yellow. The livery the 150/1s were originally painted.

Current likes Stagecoach versions, Scottish Saltire. First Group on the HSTs but it is now looking tired. Arriva fully branded 57s. Southern 377s

Dislikes. West Coast this I impossible to make look good in a photo it is always drab. London Midland and Northern are too busy. DB red is just too red. EWS is looking very tired now.

Don't really mind the rest.
