Belgium: railway crossing stupidity filmed

On june 5, a woman was filmed when she tried to cross the Brussels - Gent mainline at Lede at a crossing that is temporarily closed due to road work. She removed some of the barriers and tried to cross the track, only to become stuck. Fortunately, traffic control was informed very fast and all trains managed to stop before reaching the crossing. After 30', the car was towed away and rail traffic resumed. Infrabel, the Belgian rail infrastructure manager, was not amused...

Stupidity is not a strong enough word to qualify such a behaviour. This woman is a public hazard and should be banned from driving for life. I hope she will have to sell her mercedes to pay the fine...
