Belgian: train with Tintin decoration

At Train World in Schaarbeek (Brussels) there is an exposition about the use of trains in the adventures of Tintin, Belgium's most iconic comic book hero. This expo is open until 16.04.2017. During this event, SNCB EMU 08172 will be decorated with drawings from the first album: 'Tintin in the Soviet Union', dating from 1929. The pictures were taken during a presentation for the press on 09.01.2017.

I remember a Tintin exhibition in Liegé about 5 years ago, a Tintin Rocket was at the station

One of the Tintin books includes a journey in Britain hauled by what looks like a fairly accurate rendition of one of the SR's very early diesel locos. Rather a strange choice I thought.

I was referring to the 08 unit, but see why you responded as you did!

Train World is really good if you haven't been. You don't have to be interested in Tintin, though it seems his creator, Herge, made very sure that the trains he drew really looked like those in the country his hero and dog were visiting.

Tintin (or Kuifje in the Netherlands) was so to say my first view as a child how it was in different parts of the world.

Remember; Kuifje was the first man on the Moon.
