It looks nice. But I still think it's a waste of money, and not necessarily more suitable than cheaper commercially available buses.

Two staircases may be an innovative approach to solving this difficulty.
Not as innovative as you might think - back in the mid eighties Alexander produced a dual staircase, dual doored Ailsa V3 to solve the same problems (http://www.countrybus.org/Ailsa/V.htm)
I'm not Boris fan, far from it, but I think it looks good. It'll be great to have a bus that has had a lot of thought put into it, and is not just merely functional.
That said, I think the policy of getting rid of bendy buses is misguided. From a users point of view they have a lot of capacity, are comfortable and are fast to load/unload. This new bus has less capacity than a current double decker and a bendy bus - about 100 less than a bendy bus in fact, so where it replaces to bendies frequency will have to be doubled, and that also means doubling costs of drivers etc.
They should of designed it on an Enviro 400 body.
Trouble with the bendies is they kept breaking down and catching fire. that's been remedied and now we have four of the damn things as a result.
Out here we have two different sets of Volvo B7L bendys using Wright bodies. They are prone to breaking down as well

I have to say, thanks to Boris I had the chance to drive one but turned it down because of the proposed split shifts.
Don't you just love innovative design...
Heh we'll just have to agree to disagree there.
A popular joke at our garage: How do you break a Trident? Drive it
Now here is REAL bus. As I remember them from when I was a kid.

Nick Clegg wants to scrap Trident doesn't he?
We've got three of those that have ended up in Liverpool - they're so sh*te no-one else wanted them. And they really are sh*te!

The Borismaster actually reminds me of the FRM!
