bedford area delays

Hst 43045 has struck a person, been delayed for 1hr30mins. Heads up for you all!

Managed to get caught up in this on the way back from London. The first train to leave was the 16:30 but they dumped all the stops before Wellingborough. That must have left say 17:50? I caught the 16:55 which left about 18:15 (they had to wait for the driver to arrive from an inbound service).

This rippled all the way up the MML, with both the southbound 18:27 and :35 EMT services from Sheffield cancelled (with the inbound services terminated at Derby), putting all the London passengers from those two trains on to the 18:23 XC. Which was a four car voyager...

.. and much fun it was too ... not!

I think they also had signal failure around Wellingborough(?) and trespassing around Chesterfield->Sheffield(?) in those few hours.

There wasnt much in the news about this or did I just miss it?
