Perhaps there is also a case for parental guidance, as at one point in the film, the girls have taken off their petticoats so that they can wave them at the Train,:roll: It is so refreshing to know that we still have people that are so concerned for our Childrens safety. I think children nowerdays would rather play on the computer than the railways, now think of the dangers there

A mention about the danger of walking on railway lines before the film starts by the announcer would be sufficient. The kids that do trespass are probably too old to watch the railway children anyway. It's not exactly trendy!

And whilst we are at it, please can the announcer tell the viewer that the use of mobile phones whilst driving plus not wearing of seatbelt are both illegal in the UK. Most US films I watch flout these rules regularly.

I don't think there was any merit in the complaint to the BBC. I think children of today can realise the context. In the film Bobbie, Phyllis and Peter were only trespassing on a live railway to prevent an accident.

Of more concern is the message being sent out to young girls that it's okay to take your undergarments off and wave them in public.

These days, the expression on the face of the "Old Gentleman" as he watches the children from the train would be enough to start at least two police enquiries.:cry:

Just look at Charles Waterbury (heckling in a built up area), not to mention Dave Lodge's character (conducting without due care and attention).

The person who made the complaint is probably one of the idiots who wants to wrap the country in cotton wool and complete the process of removing the responsibility for one's own actions from individuals.

Do you remember the scene with the railway workers at the tunnel entrance - no hi-vis, no hard hat (blue or white), I bet those boots don't have steel toe-caps and mid-soles and you can be sure they haven't signed a method statement briefing form!
