Bath to Bristol commute experience

im thinking of moving to Batn and commuting from Bath spa to Filton abbey wood at peak times.

Just wondering if this is miserable commute, some friends say it’s standing room only journey at peak times.

Just wondering what other people’s bath to Bristol peak time commutes are like?

Surely you'd be hard pressed to find many commutes into major cities that aren't full and standing at peak times?

It isn’t anywhere near as bad as it used to be, if that helps.

It depends which trains you get, if you’re on a through train then you are more likely to have to stand although there is a turnover of customers at Temple Meads so you should be able to pick up the seat of someone disembarking there meaning you wouldn’t be standing for the whole journey. On your homeward journey if you end up changing trains onto one of the London-bound services then most of these start at Bristol and are longer than the local services so again you are pretty much guaranteed a seat for the Bristol to Bath leg.

There is a daily train at 15.58 from Filton to Bath avoiding Temple Meads but for the other journeys you will either be on a through train which changes direction at Temple Meads, or you will have to change trains at Temple Meads.
