Bath Spa to Redhill

Hello

I have the return portion of an Any Permitted Off-Peak Return from London Terminals to Bath Spa which I'll use on Sunday.

On Sunday, after coming back from Bath, I need to go to Redhill.

Rather than going via central London, I can save some time by changing at Reading onto a North Downs Line service via Wokingham. What's the best way of topping up my current ticket to allow this?

A single from Reading to Redhill via that route (via Gomshall) is £14.40 without railcard discount so is the easiest first option

Do you think part of the route is already covered by the Bath to London ticket?

I was wondering if at least Reading to Wokingham would be - but maybe Reading to Guildford is too?

As the routing guide is now basically useless without NRE agreeing...

I checked on the National Rail Enquiries site and it will let you travel from Bath Spa - Reading - Wokingham - London. Therefore you could indeed stop short at Wokingham and use a ticket from Wokingham.

National Rail Enquiries seems to show that a London Terminals to Bath Spa is valid from Victoria with changes at Gatwick Airport and Reading. I don't think you need an extra ticket.

If you click on the itineraries you will see small print stating that more than one ticket is needed in the blue box at the top of each one

That is real easy to miss.

But Wokingham is valid according to the Routeing Guide (may it rest in peace), using maps BL+WX. However NRE (our new god) states that more than one ticket is needed.

You can start short on an Ash Vale - Redhill SDS, priced at £10.50, at Wokingham.

Hmmm, that link gives the correct (single ticket) answer. I tried out a few more dates and discovered that on a couple of Sundays (20th Oct and 3rd Nov) it's stating 2 tickets are required. Engineering works perhaps?
