Emergency RRB's today until about 15:00 due to the problematic freight train this morning causing havoc blocking the route in the 'Up' direction at Hawkeridge.
Had to get the bus to Bath this morning from Trowbridge as the 06:04 was cancelled, as was everything else. No RRB's, even the company I work for couldn't provide a vehicle, school contracts etc, however later on I noted a variety of vehicles from various operators:
- Two N reg Optare Spectra's from SGBC (One may have been reserve, was sitting in the coach park, one of them was outside the station when I got there but ended up in the coach park)
- 66 Plate Yutong from Silverlink
- S344 SET from Centurion
- Two NatEx (ex-NX livery) Levante's from SGBC
- Pewsey Vale supplied PE63 OSO, WA04 MHM and WA15 BWB
- Barnes supplied BJ13 TXU
- Chaufferhire had a Mercedes Tourismo parked up with 'FGW RRB' label on the front (yes, the old FGW one, not GWR)
- Applegates also provided a coach
A fair few out for Bath - Trowbridge today, though managed to go back before the line re-opened so I got Pewsey Vale's Bova Futura 2 WA15 BWB, nice coach it was too!
