Hi, I'm doing some contingency planning for a trip to Dublin this weekend. I'm booked on Aer Lingus from Heathrow on Sunday. I'm a medical courier and need to get there by midday on Monday to collect cells for a patient in the UK. With the Heathrow bother I'm unsure whether my booking will be honoured. The return journey is to Manchester so that should be OK. If I was to use train+ferry what are my options?

Hi,
Why not try to change the flight to a Southampton to Dublin ticket on Sunday? There are three AerLingus flights on Sunday and all have current availability.
If you've got to buy a new ticket then the fares aren't too bad apart from the 4pm departure which is kinda pricey.
I believe the SailRail tickets to Dublin, via Holyhead, are available but check carefully. The Holyhead - Dublin ferries are operating a revised timetable due to the previous storm damage. The SailRail tickets are available to use either Stena or Irish Ferries but the tickets aren't really interchangeable between the ferry operators.

If I were you, I would just try getting a seat on Ryanair from Stansted (though that's probably already very much full)
Train+ferry, unless you are willing to do overnight (like by using Expressway/Eurolines coach) is not really possible with the revised timetable.
