BARS Class 31s

BARS has 31190, 31454 & 31601 in traffic.

Does anyone know out of those locos stored, which ones are likely to be returned to traffic & those only good for spares?

I heard a rumour that BARS had purchased 31144 to provide spares to return 31468 to traffic, could someone advise if this is true.

31190 aint been out to my knowledge since last may. 31454 ran a railtour recently so that still works and 31601 has been out on alot of railtours recently

I'm pretty sure 31190 and 31601 ran the Retro Railtours tour to Southend on May 28th? Feel free to correct me if I'm definitely wrong anybody.

Yes, 31190 & 31601 worked Retro Railtours Southend tour. 31454 should have worked, but it burst @ the K&WVR Diesel Gala.

It will assist matters if BARS had four locos available in traffic, two of them with ETH capability (31454 & 31468)!

I am nor sure whether BARS have any other 31s that can be easily resurrected?

Not 100% sure what is wrong with it, seem to recall mention of a broken spring before the Southend railtour.

However when I saw it at Ruddington at the start of June it had written on the inside of the drivers cab window "DO NOT START".

Sounds like 31454 either has a defective Engine or Main Generator.

I cannot see if it has a broken Spring it shouldn't be started, moving it would be a different matter.
