Barcelona Sants train station... Where is it?

Can anyone advise me Bareclona sants station is? I've got the other called Estacio de Franca... It's for a train to Zaragoza and finding Sants station is beyond me..

Also does anyone know can u pay on the day for fares in Spain? Someone mentioned its all reservations??

Aswell as Metro, Renfe's ordinary services run regularly between the two every few minutes. For example, trains coming in from Sitges and Reus call at Sants then terminate at Franca.

Sants is around 2 miles west of Franca, is slightly more inland, and is very, very large. The platforms are all underground, and theres loads of them too. Also has a few Metro (tube) trains calling there.

Most services except AVE, if travelling off peak are fine to buy on the day. They are dirt cheap too I found.

Found it on Google maps. Would the bus from Girona airport drop me anywhere near Sants station? I'm over in 2 weeks

Barcelona main bus station is attached to Sants and has a bus to Girona Airport.... I assume it's the same one.

I've used it and didn't like it as the platforms and trains were all packed and the automated ticket gates refused my ticket because the ink had smudged (and police with dogs were the other side of the barriers.)

Because i obviously didnt have the same experience as you. No dogs anywhere and it being underground and seeing the different trains pass through was great for me.

I remember using it when we went to Barcelona in August 2008. It was unbearably hot on the platforms! Thankfully all the trains have air con! We actually stayed at the Expo hotel and are room's balcony over looked the station and car park. Handy for us getting to and from El Prat airport.

I didn;t like the station much. I couldn't find any information about the local area, and emerging from under the ground I had no idea which way was north, or which direction my hotel was!

I didn't have any issue finding my hotel for there (but after seeing it I wish I'd found a wrong one instead.)

What I did find confusing is that there was engineering works on the mainline between El Prat and Barcelona Sants and the information on the revised service was very limited and a bit misleading.
