I've got one suggestion for ye Klambert; Rednex! 
They initially made it big about fifteen years back with their original Cotton Eye Joe single, and that's got a lot of well orchestrated (And fast!
) Banjo work in it. Personally I like their work myself...And that's coming from a Metalhead!

There are plenty of videos on YouTube at the moment, but a lot of them seem to be of a more recent 10th anniversary mix done in 2005. Personally I'd hunt out the original if I were ye, it's much better IMO! 8)

I could be wrong on this but I think Ricki Tomlinson? the big guy from 'The Royale Family' plays the Banjo and has a few albums out.

Try the Del Mccoury band, also Earl Scruggs and Lester Flatt ( I think these did the Beverley hillbillies theme and the famous 'duelling banjos' from deliverance 
).

I think I've heard them before, and they do a good line in Hillbilly rock covers!
If I remember rightly, the D in "Hayseed" is silent and thus the groups name is normally pronounced "Haysee Dixee" - A hillbilly equivalent of AC/DC.
