Just wondering if anyone could answer the following

Balloch services to and from Airdrie.

If services were to operate Balloch to Springburn and vice versus, would a 3 or 4 car cope with loadings, vice a 6 car?

If not

Would removing Anniesland to Singer stops mean a 3 or 4 car unit could cope with loadings?

3 or 4 car am basing on 385 example

No.

When the weather is good. 6-cars aren't enough at Balloch.

How are you retaining capacity on the Bellgrove-Airdrie section of the route?

Presumably the Milngavie/Springburn service would run to and from Airdrie, as there is certainly no need for 4 trains per hour between Bellgrove and Springburn. But the OP really needs to return to provide more detail!

This reply will probably come under speculative but to answer above;
My thoughts were if Balloch to Springburn could run with 4 coaches, but operating non stop after Hyndland to Dalmuir then this service could operate 7 days a week.
Milngavie services could go to Larkhall.
Dalmuir then operates to Airdrie.
They would have to be other alterations to Sunday services etc but 5 x 4 car could then operate Springburn to Balloch. If 385 were to operate, they could operate from Eastfield. There are enough 385/1 outwith the 8 car Edinburgh services.
This in turn could possibly release another pair of 318/320 which in turn could release a pair of 380/0 for EK service. I reckon Lanark services also dont need 6 cars outwith the peak

Where are you getting the 385/1s from? There aren't 5 sitting around!
