As the jubilee pretty much duplicates it, and the overground covers the northern section, would it be possible to operate a much reduced frequency with restored trains? They could return some of the '72s to original condition, and it'd be a place for the '38 to run too.

The Jubilee doesn't duplicate it at all, i don't think you can say the LO does either. So no.

It would be nice to see the 1938TS on it though.

Why? Don’t think it would get a great deal of tourist trade. If the RM heritage routes couldn’t sustain themselves what chance would an underground heritage service have.

People wanting Lambeth North, Regents Park, Marylebone, Kilburn Park, Warwick Avenue and Maida Vale wouldn't be very happy with that

The original purpose of the Jubilee Line was to relieve congestion on the Bakerloo Line between Baker Street and Charing Cross.

Since then the Jubilee Line has been diverted from Green Park to Stratford and carries many more passengers than when it opened in 1979.

So I don't think the Jubilee Line could cope with passengers displaced from the Bakerloo Line.

There would be overcrowding at stations like Piccadilly Circus and Oxford Circus, and some useful connections would be lost, such as the direct link from Waterloo to Paddington, plus the cross platform interchange with the Victoria Line at Oxford Circus.
