Hi all

If I have started a thread that should be merged, then mods please do!!!

Today there was a bad passenger who threatened a fight with the guard on the 5:37pm from Cadoxton bound for Merthyr.

At Eastbrook he wanted to see his ticket, and would not provide or pay for one.

This was atrocious behaviour - the guard put his belongings on the platform and started swearing and threatening him. The guard was great and let it go on to Central, where the police came on and discovered drugs on him and we went on late.

Funnily the train was rammed beyond Treforest for the most part!

However, I moan for delays, but respect to Arriva and that guard for handling the situation correctly.

Good, not the 1st time something like this has happened on a cardiff valley lines service.

Praise to the guard for handling the situation well.

This sort of thing is, sadly, more common than it should be.

I'm glad that on this occasion the police were able to attend and sort it out, but it's not always possible to get them out in time to prevent an assault, or to apprehend the miscreant.

It is getting more common Greenback I agree.

The futility is the chav level, but this guy was late 40s older than me at a guess.

He could have been younger and drugs had ruined him I do not know.

I have been on the train a few times wihen this kind of thing happened, on the 6:38am from Merthyr to work a Polish guy was swearing and abusive to the guard for not producing a ticket and they got him off at Merthyr Vale. I could hear him on the phone saying I got so far etc.

Pathetic - we are trying to make the railways better, more expansive, double tracking, new lines etc and people like these are making it almost impossible to realise what we hope!

They are nothing but SCUM!

Bad behaviour is not related to age, it's often more to do with the amount of drugs and/or alcohol that has been consumed. There ar emore drugs about now, which could be one of the reasons why this sor tof behaviour is more prevalent.

That said, some people are just naturally unpleasant, and don't require any narcotics to be abusive!

I agree it has nothing to do with age. People are bad if they are bad whatever their age.

The thing is, how hard is it to be nice and pleasant? We all have our bad days, but mine are mainly when Liverpool lose in footy, when The Scarlets lose in rugby and Wales! However, I do not get abusive - time for banter no more.

They need to learn people skills which people like us do not, we APPRECIATE people simple as!
