So the Tories have admitted that rail privatisation was bit of a boo-boo and want to alter the set-up. Given that statement what do you think should now be the course to take?

Labour will never win the next election, so sadly I fear the Tories may get in, and they have always wanted to spend as little money as possible on railways, so they will probably go for the cheapest option with little regard for passengers.

It's a bit early to say 'Labour will never win the next election' I think! Though I'd agree that they don't have much chance . In any case, if a government went for the cheapest option, it would on my understanding be renationalisation, which would be no bad thing.

Oh, but the Tories have changed haven't they :roll:. Overall, they're better than the buffoons that are in power at the moment.

I would personally like to see renationalisation, but if not, I'd like to see railway operators work on the same basis as the BBC, not for profit.

I'm no Tory but I never wanted Blair in the first damn place! His cheesy grin is enough to make babies cry and Grannies wild. The man is a wrecker, pure and simple. Socialist? He would not know what socialism was if it came along and ran over his balls with a steam roller.

As a Labour supporter i still think they have had their day and it's time to move out and let someone else **** up the railways and country in general.
Railway investment will always be the last thing on any governments minds but renationalisation would be good but doubt it will ever happen.
