Hi.

How is the Bachmann Virgin Voyaguer coupled? Is it durable - it will be put together and put away most weekends? Are there 'rods' that aren't attached to either carriage and could get lost?
I was dissappointed with the Hornby Pendelino's thin plastic couplings - they started to snap off after 6 or so reasonably careful connect and dis-connects.

I've got a Hornby Mixed Goods DCC set and I think I'm assured that the Bachmann can be controlled by it (with 2 DCC Hornby trains on the track) as the only analogue train.

Many thanks,
Matt.

There are rods, that are attached the each carrige, and IMO are quite easy to lose, but they arent if you leave them sttached the the coaches

Cheers. Yes - I've found a picture of the connecting rods (look to be ~15mm long) and they shouldn't get lost if left in one of the carriages. Easilly found at least 2 websites that supply spares for a few quid.

From memory the 'rods' come in a sealed bag, if you don't rip it open you can replace the 'rods' in the bag when you put the unit away. They have survived many uncouplings on my fleet.

Bachmann do sell additional rods so when i lost some of mine i used these and they're pretty much the same. I went to my local model shop and they got some in stock for me!

They must be pretty strong because my voyager is quite used and abused!! So far they have all remained very strong.
