Disruption to British Airways flights on Tuesday 30 & Wednesday 31 January 2007

Time Reported:27 Jan 12:56Description:Due to possible industrial action by British Airways Cabin Crew on Tuesday 30 & Wednesday 31 January 2007, most flights operated by British Airways will be cancelled on these dates.

British Airways passengers holding valid tickets irrespective of class will be permitted to travel in First Class on Virgin Trains services without additional payment.

However the following information should be noted:

Only passengers holding domestic British Airways tickets will be allowed this concession but it does include those passengers making an international journey where a domestic British Airways journey is included in the ticket.
The date of travel must coincide with the date shown on the British Airways ticket.
Train journeys made on Virgin Trains should sensibly correspond with the journey shown on the airline ticket.

------

Kind gesture from Virgin but I cant see this being well advertised.

This has already been posted here.

I don't think it's a "kind gesture" - it's much more to do with winning airline passengers to rail and making VT look very good to those passengers.

When coming back from Fort William in the summer, we were on a Preston - London non-stop service (previous calls Glasgow & Carlisle), and I'd say it was pretty full FC...

More to do with filling their mostly vacant 3 carriages of first class on 390s!?

I find on Virgin it fills mostly throughout the day, particularly on Manchester services. I'm not sure on the other routes however.

It ties in with Virgin winning Air Passengers on Trains.

The flights are back anyway!

Apart from the Manchester services in the week peaks, I think the first class is fairly heavily over subscribed - you can certainly have a rammed standard class with maybe one or possibly 2 full first class carriages on the EBW in the week at 5pm!
