Hi
Is there a B & B in York that has a good view of the ECML?
Thanks Brian

All the city centre ones will probably claim to be near the station, so that isn't going to work!I'm sure if you had a trawl through the EC Hotel Booking Service they would list hotels as near as possible to stations, for convenience.
My parents nearly bought the house adjacent to the footbridge near Holgate Junction in 1976. Had they done so I would have spent the next 5 years watching deltics from my bedroom window. As it was they bought a house not far away so I could could hear but not see them.
To an EE starved fan who only heard 4SRKT's when visting grandparents, I would have loved that.
Coincidentally I also only heard 4SRKTs when visiting grandparents: in Carrickfergus! My childhood was spent in the constant earshot of quality EE traction. 37s pulling off Dringhouses Yard at night on Speedlinks were particularly splendid.

Anyway, what are you going to York for?
I'd forgotten about the Holgate Bridge Hotel mentioned by 142094. That might be a good shout. Very handy for 'Railway York' in general. I only walked past it on the way to school for 7 years! D'oh!
