Aylesbury

I travelled to Aylesbury today. Of interest was how the station was shown on my ticket, namely "AYLESBURY DS". Any idea what the DS part means? Usually additional bits of the name are used to differentiate one station from another similar one and the suffix is self explanatory (like a county abbreviation).

No image, unfortunately, as machines at both ends of the journey (out and return) retained the ticket.

Bought and printed at Maidenhead ticket office 'over the counter'.

There is also Aylesbury Vale Parkway, so it must be to distinguish between the two. But why DS I have no idea!

There are two routes from London Marylebone to Aylesbury, maybe its something to do with that?

Maybe, but I would have thought that would come under the route field rather than the station name field.

That isn't listed as a destination on BRFares, and when I've gone to/from there it's just been Aylesbury. Odd one!

Yes come to think of it i've gone on both routes and the ticket just said Aylesbury each time.

With the new STARMobile ticket machines on GWR, CCST credit/debit card confirmation tickets show the base location of the machine followed by DS (presumably for docking station) as the issuing location. The same is shown on tickets such as Rovers and Rangers issued from such machines. I am wondering if there has been an internal error with the STAR system to cause a ticket to show Aylesbury DS, seeing as Aylesbury is also a depot location?

Old style but with 'laser' (or similar) print, not dot matrix (side question: are there even any of them left?)
