Can I ask where have you been on the list? Which place? I’m planning to call tomorrow to check if something changed for me..

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

I will email Katie now and ask her to send me the duty of care form.

Thank you for the information.

I just got an email Tfl now has all my documents they needed. Just have to wait now.

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

Just an update if anyone wants to know. I have a video call on Monday to prove my identity and address on camera. I will have to show the documents on camera and then my DBS will start.

I wonder what type of DBS Tfl does. If it's basic then it should take 2-3 weeks but if its enhanced it should take 2-4 months.

Does anyone know?
Sorry the previous questions supposed to be for you..

I had my camera verification this afternoon. It was quite straightforward. I was told the dbs could take up to two weeks but in her experience it’s usually faster unless there is something wrong of course.

I had my medical last week. I'm not sure what number I was for the waiting list but I would say when I had my assessments stage 2 during some covid restrictions there was only 2 people doing the assessments. I was told under normal conditions there would be 10-15 people.

Anyway I started talking to the guy after the assessments and he asked which area I was from. I told him west London near Heathrow area. He said there is usually less applicants from this area when compared to East London or other parts of London. Not sure if that is playing a part to speeding things up or not.

If it takes 2 weeks for the DBS, Do we get 4 weeks to give current work place a notice?

I won't be leaving my current role. I am on a part time contract working lots of overtime when available. I need 3 weeks off (Unpaid if i have to) to start the CSA full time training.

Does anyone know if there is any courses starting soon?

If its a lady that did yours, then I suspect that is what she is telling everyone. she did say to me that she wouldn't know about it cos it was not her department.
Fingers crossed but I think we will be getting dates soon as soon as training picks up.

Yes i had the video call with a lady. She said only reason she is saying it could be 3 months is because some people already had a start date and they were all for the same time in 3 months time.

Called recruitment yesterday and I’ve moved up 11 places on the wait list which means everyone should have done too, I’ve gone from 79 to 68. She has now said that they are looking at doing larger groups of people in the training sessions rather than groups of 11 people! So not long now everyone

I believe I spoke with the same lady(she’s in charge of CSA2 recruitment). They’re fully booked till June with trainings and what she’s doing now is going through the waiting list from the top and checking outstanding documents, doing all the verification and because we applied last year she needs proof of address for last three months. I was in January number 32 now I’m 17.. She said she’s checking now number 8 and she said probably I’ll hear from her today or tomorrow.

Sounds like your getting super close to the finish line of this LONG drawn out process, I’m happy for you

You’ve had a massive jump from January, did I read that correctly in you saying your now at number 8?

Did she call you in the end?

I think this process will take 1-2 weeks.

I did a similar process for my Uber eats account which took 8 days to complete. I am doing part time food delivery until I start my CSA night tube role.

I got am email now to say the initial checks are done and I needed to sign a form and send back to confirm my references can be checked, Credit checks and other checks.

It's moving quite fast so far.

Do you know what number you are on the waiting list. I think I’m only a couple of days ahead of you in screening. DBS notified me that my certificate has been generated so I suspect only the references remain.

I don't know what number I am. How do I find out?

I called TfL recruitment to find out what position I am and they told me I am number 44 and all the courses are fully booked for June so it will most likely be around Autumn for training. Not good but it is what it is.

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

Also I just got a text now to say my DBS Certificate has been issued. TfL said DBS takes upto 2 weeks but looks like mine is done in 2 days.

Who knows what will happen now.

To be honest I don’t think it matters which place you are. When I was calling I think on Wednesday she told me that she’s checking outstanding documents for number 8 on the list. Next day she contacted me. I’m 17 and they’ve just requested video call for me so I’m waiting now. Katie said that probably I would be able to start in the end of July or August. But I can see some people being far away had almost all checks done so I don’t know how it’s working

You are CSA 2 I assume, cos I think it depends on business needs as well. At this point I think more CSA2s are needed than CSA 1s

Just quick question. Which documents I’ll need to have for the ID verification? I’m going for a holiday and I don’t know what to take with me apart from passport.

Passport should be sufficient. Take driving licence with you (just in case).

Thanks! I’ve just got an email and tomorrow I have video call

I have one more question. As some of you did already reed screening, do you know what will happen if I will not give the permission for a references check? As it’s taking long time of course my current employer don’t know that I’ve got another job. I prefer to talk with them when I’ll have a dates of training but I’ve got an email from reed if they can chase it.

I gave my HR address. My manager won't find out most likely plus they can't stop you from having a second job as long as there isn't any conflict of interests.

I don't think you have a choice here. Like mabs said, give HR address if you don't want your immediate manager to find out before time but I think they will find out anyway. It also depends what kind of information reed wants. I was informed that they only want to confirm your start date, current status and if there's a disciplinary action going on against you.

Sorry for the late reply, I didn't give permission for them to speak to my current employer simply because like you I didn't want any conflict but I did provide payslips from my current employer covering 6 months to show that Im still employed and it is with said employer. Another alternative is to ask HMRC to give you your tax report which you can then scan over to verify you worked for said employer.

Thanks for that. I’ve just got an email saying the same, I just need to proof my employment dates or send the contract to show when I’ve started and last three bank statements.
