Just an update in regards to the train maintainer role
Spoke to John in the new team yesterday and he was a lot more positive , said they are still finding their feet in terms of who will be in charge of what campaign etc . So fingers crossed on that.
Only thing I'm disappointed in is the change in terms from when the original job was offered
Apparently now they won't guarantee a job within 12months and also they won't offer Similar positions if they become available.
Like the Northumberland park overhaul door project that was offered tail end of next year.
Still think it's a really poor show from such a large company. Could do with some serious feedback I think.

I'm afraid to say that those of us who are already in the company know what a shambles recruitment and retention is. Frankly, it doesn't get any better when it comes to transfers, movements, secondments, or promotions. There are still a few CSAs just starting train operator training from the 2017 campaign!
My only advice is to hang in there for whatever position you've applied for. There is an ongoing requirement for staff in lots of positions, so they will be compelled to process the applications eventually.

Just had a call from TFL recruitment from a lady called Katie finally booking me in for my medical next week Monday, another step closer I guess.
Although I know some of you have already had medicals and it’s been radio silence since.

I would suggest to tick the box where it says "I want a copy of my medical assessment results". I had mine 17th of January. Its been quite since. Good luck

That's great. I didn't pass the GWR final interview so it's delayed me by 1-2 years. I am waiting for a train driver interview with SWR and maybe il apply again at GWR.
I am now waiting for a call for the medical for TFL CSA night tube part time.
Do you know if the new TFL 8% pay rise will apply for us aswell or is it just for drivers?
It's a London Underground pay rise (RPI +0.2%), and yes, CSAs will get it.
Wider NT reintroduction across more lines is proposed for mid May - hence the ramp up in training I suppose?

It's not that hard, study the tube map pay attention to central London Stations. Read the paragraph they give you couple of times and look for mistakes. Relax you will be fine.

Just an update, passed my medical mid January and just been told that I'm number 50+ on the list. I think this list is longer than M6.

Just completed my medical, they told me straight away that everything was a pass I was in and out within 30 minutes.
Hearing test was an odd one as you could barely hear the beeping through the headphones so listen really carefully while doing it.

Congratulations. I'll urge you call them in a week or so and ask what is your number on the list. Apparently they are training 15/week so knowing your number will give you a rough idea.
Last I asked they said i was number 55 but i just passed my medical today so i wonder where that puts me. I will give them a call on monday to see

I didn't know we had to make announcements. Oh well will be interesting to practice. I applied for part time nights.
As far as I know, NT trainees are all CSA1s, and although there won't be any SATS on nights, you get the full training. (I suppose being properly, and fully trained, opens up more opportunities for daytime overtime as well.)
