That doesn't account for the one way fare being far more than the return. It's well over £300 one way, just £250 return. It is to do with the fare structure, not APD or taxes.

London to Bergen/Stavanger with BA sometimes prices up at £160 return or thereabouts in Business. BA are unusual in having affordable Business fares on some Euro routes. Sales are fairly regular.

Yes, KLM do it too. Very annoying when your timings make it so much easier to fly each way with different airlines, or you want to fly back from somewhere they won't serve.

Is there a handy list of airlines which do and don't do this sort of pricing?

1) Its a reference to the Gorilla shot after the kid fell inside the enclosure. The guy that posted the video does FSX Steam videos where he'll use funny callsigns - they'd joked the next time they went flying they would use that callsign

I've never fully understood this.

Award tickets booked on Avios however can be booked as one ways.

Yes. It's the restricted area code for Groom Lake, the name of a salt pan located immediately to the north of the Area 51 installation.

Had an interesting flight to Warsaw with Ryanair. After holding for about 30 mins we got diverted from Modlin to Chopin due to freezing fog at Modlin. The captain apologised, we were cheering. Ha ha. Got bussed of the plane past a Qatar A330, an Emirates 777 and a LOT 787.

The problem with the Business Class Fare is the APD it's a lot higher than cattle and hence the headline lead in much higher.

Ha, love that. In true Ryanair fashion they should have put you on a bus and driven you straight through to Modlin!

Ha ha. It was quite good fun. Absolutely made up we flew in to Chopin. There was a line of diverted Ryanair planes on remote stands. Got to say considering that we had stairs and buses at the plane quicker than Manchester can normally manage at a remote stand.

The railway station *used* to look like that. It's now had a significant make over. To be honest I miss the old place a bit, but I'm often struck now by how much better Poland looks than the UK.

That is sad to hear. Yeah I was surprised to see a Mig 29 in a museum. To me it is like seeing a Typhoon in one. I'll put a photo up when I get home and have time to faf.

They date from the 80s, so not that modern, just that nothing more recent from the ex-Soviet design houses have become as popular as most of the export customers have disappeared/lack the money to invest in new aircraft.

They date from 1978 I think. The one in the museum is only about 20 years old. That is pretty young for a museum piece.

Bear in mind that the Polish Air Force has bought US of late and flies F-16s so some MiG-29s will have become surplus to requirements earlier that would be the norm.

Yes it is a former East German plane. Mig-29G. One of a handful of flightworthy models delivered to Poland during the 2000s from the new German Republic for €1 each.
