Return yes. Why fares are £150+ cheaper from Dublin than London I'll never know.

I'd guess much of that is Air Passenger Duty. Tax levied by the UK government, but not the Irish government.

British Airways flights are well known for being significantly cheaper from Dublin- and other European cities- than from London. Even though you connect on to the exact same aircraft at Heathrow. There are threads and threads on FlyerTalk about how to game it and get to Dublin for the cheaper tickets quickly and cheaply.
Similarly, I've seen Newcastle-Dublin-JFK on Aer Lingus to be cheaper than Dublin-JFK.
Quite simply, it is market-based pricing. Nothing to do with tax.

Somehow Expedia seem to have forgotten about the Phoenix to Chicago leg on the way back even though I booked it. What fun this is, good job I have 5 months to sort it.

Expedia have confirmed my flights, took the money out my bank but it's gone back in again, with the itinerary showing as tickets being confirmed. I've emailed Aer Lingus about it to see if they have a record of the booking, but it's pretty odd.

I would phone Expedia up again and explain the situation, but the last time I was on the phone to them it was horrible, damn their Indian call centres.

Had a nice daytrip to Tiree today flying from Glasgow.
Although formerly liveried in Flybe/Loganair Colours the new Twin Otters have Highlands and Islands Blue and White Livery.
Apparently these Aircraft were purchased by The Scottish Government and are operated with a subsidy by Flybe on their behalf.
Just as well as there were only five of us on the way out and four on the way back
What a glorious day it was in Tiree the Sun shining that much I got sunburnt. My hire car was waiting for me in the Airport car park with the keys in the ignition and a note asking me to pop into the Garage to sign the paperwork. Yikes petrol 129p per litre !! I was asked to leave it at the Airport on departure with said keys in the same manner as arrival.
The Airport has a self-service "canteen" with an honesty box used for paying for refreshments. A different world !!
Never mind another runway at Heathrow - Tiree has six
- a relic of it's Military Heritage. All for two flights per day. Security is a breeze.
Are the new Twin Otters made by someone other than Saab as their name has disappeared - saw DH on the pedals - De Havilland ? Cockpit is still open with no door.
Scenery on the way over superb

De Havilland Canada, which then became part of Bombardier but for the last ten years I think the relevant bit of the comapny has been owned by Viking Air after Bombardier sold it off.
I don't recall SAAB ever having had any involvement with the Twin Otter?

Sounds like a great flight! I forgot I haven't yet updated my Flightdiary logs after my flight on Sunday. I flew Ryanair for the first time this year, Stansted to Edinburgh on FR8883, scored winner for everything EI-ESL on it.
Brilliantly smooth all the way, only 1 minute late off the terminal, 46 minutes in the air and no faffing around going from terminal to runway and vice versa. Unlike Norwegian, Gatwick and JFK...
15 Ryanair craft scored now, and looking forward to my next Ryanair flight. I'm slowly turning into an aviation geek, and I'm currently looking at the map and where I can go next...

I've tried that with the short positioning hop BA do between Heathrow and Cardiff for maintenance.

They're never in a month of Sundays going to let you onto a ferry flight. No cabin crew etc for safety.
However, for a 747 you could try New York return, or I think they still go Accra etc. Ex-Dub a return can be had for not very much money at all. Pick your flight carefully out of London for the 747.
The A380 is quite a bird, though I wouldn't go a trip specifically to fly one.

Get enough people together you could charter it - but bear in mind Heathrow to Cardiff is really only a few minutes in the air, no real altitude stuff either.

While nothing is impossible, it does seem somewhat unlikely.
As Peter says, a flight to Cardiff might not be the best way to enjoy the Queen of Skies. Something a bit longer might be more enjoyable.
Or as Lord Flashheart said: get inside her 5 times a day and take her to heaven and back.

Not a 380 or 747, but if you want to try out a big jet for Ryanair money there is always the Manchester- Munich service offered by what is often considered one of the world's best airlines- Singapore- using 777ER
