Hi All,
I'm looking for some general advice re airlines and routes. My wife and I are looking at flying from either Leeds or Manchester to Sydney on (or around) the weekend of 15/16 August 2015, and returning from Brisbane on or around the weekend of 5/6 September, 2015. On our way either to or from Sydney / Brisbane, we would like to visit Perth for 3-4 days.
We are mainly going to Australia to spend a couple of weeks with our eldest daughter who is now living in Brisbane. We want to fly out to Sydney (where I lived 20 years ago) and spend around a week there with friends, and for our daughter and her boyfriend to come and join us in Sydney for the time we are there. We then want to go up to Brisbane for around a week to our daughter's home, and from there visit family in Bundaberg for a couple of days. All the internal Australian travel will be via flights rather than driving.
My wife is not a good flyer, and has never flown beyond a 4 hour flight, she is 6 foot 1 inch and gets restless legs, the prospect of such a long journey being cramped into a seat isn't something that she is relishing. I myself am 6 foot, and pretty wide. Again for me I don't much fancy cramped seating. So into the mix of routes and airline choice comes comfort also. We probably can't afford First or Business Class, unless there are some good deals, and I don't want an extra leg room seat that comes at the cost of having a window seat (I would rather look out of the window than watch TV). So that might also throw aircraft type into the mix!
At a first glance search on Skyscanner, Malaysian comes top of the list in terms of price (probably for obvious reasons), but I have no idea what the comfort factor would be on this airline...
If anyone can offer any hints, tips or advice, it would be very much appreciated.
