Avantix machines and Zone U12*

Morning all

Whilst queueing up at my local station, the RPIs doing a spot check offered to sell tickets to speed things up. Upon asking for my usual return to Zone U12*, they informed me the Avantix machines only sold travel cards.

I don't believe this is true - am I right? My home station is Kings Langley and Zone U12* etc tickets are available from both the TVMs and ticket office...

No. Putting 0790 as the destination will produce fares to zone 1-2 (where they're available).

So the tickets are available on Avantix under 0790, assuming they're available from that station? Thanks, that'll help if there's a next time.

I should have said yes, you're quite right and they're wrong.

There is a code for all the zone combinations ranging between 0785 and 0792. If the fare is available, it will available on the Avantix so the RPI was clearly treading water and had forgotten the codes/didn't know them.
