Avanti West Coast diversions 18th October 2025

I have a query regarding my north-bound Pendolino yesterday that was routed from Rugby to Stafford via Bescot as a result of OHLE issues on the Trent Valley - is anyone able to confirm whether such diversion would have avoided Wolverhampton via Portobello and Bushbury Junctions?

It’s very likely that it did, but if you can be more precise about exactly which service you were on I would expect we could come up with a more definitive answer.
Just saying you were on a northbound Pendolino is a bit pants as far as answering your question is concerned.

Sorry - I should have said : It was 1H61 06.29 London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly - arrived 62min late at Piccadilly
