Can I ask roughly how long assessment day 2 lasted? My day 1 ended around 12:30 but the email for day 2 doesn't have an end time stated. Want to make sure I book my train ride home at a reasonable time.
They told me 9:00 and expect to be held until 17:00. I never made it that far but I'd say give yourself that eight hours since the CBI can go on for quite a while. Even if you end up leaving earlier you can always find something to do I suppose but it's better than missing a train and needing to pay for another ticket.

When you say you're in the pool, do you mean to start official training? I'm Polmadie too but the OPC have not been In touch yet regarding the next stages (I've passed and was told to wait for further info).

Regarding the DMI, does anyone know if it’s at the depot you applied to or are they just covered in one location such as Crewe?
It will either be in the depot you applied for or at their Crew office. Depends where they have the availability. Most Euston applicants did travel up to Crew (myself included).

Wow you travelled up to Crewe. I also had to travel to Crewe for mine. I’m sure it’s their head office.
I thought it was their training academy? But yeah I did ask why and he said there were so many of us for DMI’s so we got sent where there was availability.
Hopefully some of us 2023 lot will hear about the current status of the pool.

Good luck at yours and I’ve been in the pool since last year September I think, been so long I can’t remember now but hopefully won’t be much longer till the others with me get some start dates.

I have been told dates need approving after March. Whether this means we will hear after March or before I don’t know. Hopefully we hear some good news very soon!
You’re a legend, thanks for sharing that info! I don’t mind the waiting, it’s just the not knowing.

I made it into the talent pool early 2023 and still waiting on the call - fingers crossed for the next month or two!
I also personally know of a few others still waiting from the 2022 intake.
You won’t need any of that. Take a bottle of water for yourself, preferably Evian and you’ll be all set. Anything you’ll need on the day, they’ll provide.
Now I'm intrigued why Evian.

It’s just always been my go to, especially for a big interview. Smooth to drink and hasn’t got that funny taste like Volvic does.
The courses are very random its hard to predict how they fill the spaces.
Im part of the 2022 intake and ive been in the talent pool since March 2023, i know of people who started a course this month who was part of the 2023 intake and have only been waiting a few months they applied for Euston which is the biggest demand out of all depots so that will have a influence into why he has 'skipped' the queue. Nobody really knows how they go about it just have to sit back and wait for the phone call patiently (impatiently)! Are time will come!

I have a question for you… when did you pass your tests stages 1 and 2? From reading the correspondence sent they did mention test results play a factor in who skips ahead of who because if you passed your tests several years ago they are only valid for 5 years and you will need to be prioritised for a course before they expire. That’s how I understood it…? It mentioned consideration of expiry date of OPC results, results from DMI, notice period and annual leave.

Stage 1 was 30/11/22 and stage 2 was 06/01/23 then the final DMI was 03/03/23
Still have plenty of time before they expire haha.
That very well be the case about skipping ahead as i dont know about the dates he took tests all i know is that he was a part of your intake, he mightve took them a little while back and possibly failed on one so was on his final chance and got threw. Who knows ey haha would love to know how they go about picking people for course dates or even assessment dates
Hi, can anyone give me some additional info on the CBI? I understand the questions are different for everyone however any tips on how to prepare, what to expect, would be great. My plan was to try and come up with generic answers from past experiences that show potential qualities of a driver. Am I going in the right direction? Any example questions? Thanks!
As you have said, the questions are different for everyone. The best thing to do is just be completely honest when answering and don’t try to answer with what you think they want, you will only trip yourself up. The answers don’t need to be work related, they can be from anything. The practise material you should have received has the perfect practise questions for you. As for tips… relax, answer with things you are confident talking about that relate to the question, research the STAR interview method and speak clearly! Good luck.

Hi all just wanted to see if there are any Wolverhampton applicants? I applied initially back in March 2023 and did online tests. Since had several emails since saying the application is on hold while they get the training schedule from avanti.
