I've booked tickets Liverpool L St to London Euston for Friday 6 May. The Avanti website and app says it is possible to change these tickets to a different time and day (even though they are Advance singles), and I wanted to rebook for Saturday 7th. Searching for train times on both Avanti and the National Rail sites gives the expected trains and timing, but both say that 'no tickets are available'. Engineering works are affecting some parts of the network that weekend, but there is nothing to suggest that the Liverpool- Euston route is affected; and I would have thought that if trains aren't running or times have changed, that would show up online anyway. I would also expect Avanti, rather than just post a blank statement that no tickets are available, at least explain why. Does anyone have a clue about what might be going on?

I think the Avanti app and website must have been designed by Franz Kafka or one of his relations. Clicking on any of the various 'help' buttons takes you all around the houses of special offers, how to book tickets, station facilities (which incidentally, at least in the case of Liverpool, need editing) etc etc, without any way of asking a simple question and getting a simple answer. They don't even appear to have an online chat facility, let alone a telephone number.

There don't seem to be any AWC Advance fares available next weekend (Saturday 2 or Sunday 3 April, I am looking at Carlisle to Warrington or Crewe) either.
I can't believe every single quota has been used up already across 2 days.

Is that because there’s planned engineering work between Carlisle and Scotland, and around Preston that weekend?

Thank you - the much reduced service will be the reason due to engineering work around Preston. The AWC service north of Preston on Saturday is vastly reduced but seems normal timings so I'm not entirely sure what the reason is.

Thanks. But they warn you that there will be a long wait, and I suspect there is the usual interminable (but easily forgettable) computerised list of options before there is any chance of speaking to someone.
