Hi does anyone work for Avanti and able to let me know what the shifts are like - specifically for onboard customer service assistants on a 35hr contract (if possible.) Do you generally get 2 days off together? I don’t mind whereabouts in the week they are - just wondering if they’re always split or if you always get days off together. Also in regards to pay is there any shift allowance or commission on top of the salary?

Thank you

Hello,

Sundays are part of the roster, and there is no higher overtime pay rate.
You have 3 days off every week; they are usually together. Every 4, 5 weeks, you end up with something like 5 rest days in a row.
There is a commission paid based on the sales made in the shop, on weekends and bank holidays, which tends to add up to around £50, £60 every 4 weeks. If you do overtime on the weekend, you will have a little more.
If you will be based at Euston Station, you will be on a roster of late shifts, mostly. The early shifts are given based on seniority, and they are popular among colleagues who have worked there for a long time. Usually, there is a high demand for the morning shifts.
Your roster will change every 6 months, in line with the national timetable changes, where you will be allowed to request a desired link, but it is not guaranteed.
