On Saturday the 1st and Sunday 2nd of June, most Edinburgh Avanti trains are VAR'd to start/terminate at Glasgow Central, meaning roughly 2tph Avanti from Glasgow as the usual services are also running.

Is this a first? And does anyone know why they are doing this? Edinburgh has no Avanti trains those days and some of their TPE services are starting/terminating at Carlisle.
