Hi. I am trying to work out which Avanti services have breakfast before booking - is there a way to find which menu is served on which service? I am struggling to find that info.

I am looking at the 9.30am Euston to Glasgow.

There's no concrete information, but I'd expect most services before 10am to either be breakfast, or to still have some breakfast items on board which most staff will be happy to serve you.

On weekends, breakfast is often available a bit later, on most services before 11am.

But do keep in mind that none of this is a guarantee!

It used to be stated that breakfast was served on trains with origin departure time before 10am, so the 09:55 Piccadilly-Euston qualified and I’ve had breakfast joining it at Wilmslow in the past. But I’ve not done so recently and I haven’t seen a similar statement.

That train should still serve breakfast upto Preston. The rest of the day menu starts around 1100, on all 7 days. Some trains do change slightly earlier/ later.

I boarded an Avanti train at 1136 last Friday, from Coventry to Edinburgh, and was surprised and delighted to be offered and served a full English Breakfast. Sometimes, I think it just varies on what they have left.

Yes you're right. I seem to remember the 09:55 from Piccadilly being as you say the last train of the day to offer the Full Breakfast menu, then the 10:15 onwards offered Brunch but that was a few years ago, Avanti scrapped Brunch a year or two ago in favour of offering the full Breakfast menu a bit longer.

It would certainly be helpful if the Avanti timetable highlighted where Breakfast is offered, as Virgin used to do, or alternatively have a list of what is offered on each train, like LNER does.

LNER used to state which menu was available as a useful PDF on their website, but now it's just within their own journey planner.

They didn't ever state which part of the menu was available though, at least not in the last year or two. Brunch was an "exception" but that's just because it was a dedicated menu basically consisting of both parts of the Dish menu.

It would be helpful to know with Avanti though, I agree.

Correct, it was around 2 years ago, and thank god for that as Avanti's Brunch offering wasn't exactly exciting.

I think VTWC did this too as I remember referencing to it.
