Autotransformer Conductor Designated Earthing Points

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew why autotransformer conductor designated earthing points along the track where the staff apply the orange earths to have an additional live wire feeding down the structure with an attached earthing spigot?

Is this just for easier access to the spigots or are there other considerations?

Your assumption is correct. The Auto-Transformer Feeder (ATF) wire is normally higher and/or further away from the usual OLE DEP locations so its common practice to have a trailing connection to the DEP for ease of applying an Earth.
