does anyone know if they will accept your application if you say that you will relocate or is it an automatic no if you dont live within one hour.

Ha!! TDK you'll regret this lol ;)

I will only help people who help themselves and unfortunately that is a minor few. By help I mean guidance and not anything else.:D

The only answer to that is try and try to get evidence of your intention to relocate.

Will Arriva takeover the recruitment for the New Franchise soon ? or will it all just carry on with Northern up until the changeover date and then just become Arriva ?

also, haven't I read that some of the ATW stuff will move to the new franchise ? in which case is it likely that these advertised vacancies will be part of that ?

or is it a case that nobody (outside of those in an official capacity) really has any confirmation of whats happening yet ?

The last quote is correct as nobody knows what is happening for sure. If Arriva Northern take work from ATW their drivers will come under TUPE and visa versa if Welsh Rail continue the routes.

Yes they will, I got to the interview stage a couple of years back and I was the other side of Wales. Just take evidence that you have been looking at houses on rightmove or zoopla ect.

TUPE is the process that is adapted by law that any worker when another company takes over keeps their jobs and the roles they are in. If there is an excess then only voluntary redundancies will be accepted. So for example VT took the reigns for East Coast and the employee structure remains the same under TUPE. On the railway the saying goes "job will be the same but we will be wearing a different uniform" TUPE is a lot more involved I suggest you look it up if you need more detail!

Well my application is in. I would have to relocate but I hope they see past this. I'm sure I'll get there one day. I currently work in the railway industry already so hopefully they see potential!

Looks like they've been pulled early. Obviously they have enough applications submitted.

yer from what i gather they were inundated this time and the plan was always to pull them once they have received enough applicants.

I imagine they can set that number of applicants at whatever they want so could in effect only accept a couple of hundred or less for each

My application has been in since Monday for Chester and Llandudno Junction.
I live 20 minutes away from the depot in Chester, 45 mins from Llandudno.

Fingers are crossed so tight, I've been waiting for a trainee position in the area for a long time. Wish me luck bro's!

Good luck buddy, Chester will be your first choice being only 20 minutes away if they ask you!

Great, didn't even get a chance to put mine in.

This is all a part of the assessment. In future when a job is advertised the only way is to get the application in the same day. Have one prepared ready to just upload. So many people miss the boat by taking too long to do their application but looking at it in the point of view of the job a driver needs to make quick, accurate decisions so in my opinion it's all a part of the recruitment process.

It did quote that on the advertisement that once enough applicants were received the jobs will be pulled.

This, this, this. Never truer words spoken regarding stage one of the rail jobs application process.

As did I. Has anyone who has applied recently passed the tests before? I have experienced though it's not always an advantage...

It's not really an advantage with ATW as they generally make you take them again whether you have passed them recently or not as i found out personally :)
