Does anyone have any information at all when the next trainee driver course is, any inside friends/colleagues close to ATW recruitment that can give us any idea at all.

I think I’ve read on a previous thread that there are 12/13 currently in the talent pool and have been for nearly 2 years. This doesn’t include those currently going through the recruitment process.

‘Calshaw21’ in a previous post mentions end of October but how accurate is that. If it is true then those of us in the talent pool should be hearing something soon as ATW need to book a medical for us as well as providing a months notice to our current employers and another interview just to see if we’re still keen as we were when first applied etc..

Maybe they are waiting until the new franchise kicks in on the 14th of October as I suppose there is no point giving us a contract now with ATW only to have to change it again in 6 weeks.

It would just be nice to know, whether it’s 2/4/6 months or more, I just don’t want to make plans with family for holidays etc only to be told a course is imminent.

What’s everyone’s thoughts especially those of you who are already in the talent pool.

My heart always skips a beat when I hear an email notification on my phone thinking it’s from ATW and has done for ages

Anyway any information would be grateful.

P.s All the best to those of you currently going through the process. Just relax and try and enjoy the assessment day as much as you can. ATW recruitment team make you feel so at ease on the day and fully explain everything so don’t be afraid to ask if your not sure, they are there to help!

Likewise for Holyhead...I am truly gutted as I thought the interview went well.

Good luck to everyone else still waiting to hear.

Same ‘unsuccessful’ email for me to re Chester.
Again thought I’d done well in the interview.....obviously not.

My email says they can’t give individual feedback?!

I thought I heard that too in my interview....however the email implies differently

Same as does the reply I just received

“Hi

I am sorry you were told that as we cannot give feedback to individual candidates due to the volume of applicants.

Kind regards

Lynda”

So how are you supposed to know where to improve or what exactly they were looking for etc?

Would be nice to have some guidance.

That disappointed me more than not getting through to be honest.

I was surprised to get through from the phone interview but felt I gave a good account of myself at the face to face interview.

You also said you felt you had done well at the face to face.

We all know when we’ve performed badly at an interview but to feel that one has done well, not get through and then to be told you can’t get feedback after being told otherwise, that’s frustrating.

It's not frustrating, it's demoralising.

Welcome to the Railway corrupt to the core. It’s not what you know it who you know. They use people as to make it look legit recruitment. They had people in mind for them drivers jobs. Funny how they change there mind last minute about there even being any vacancies. Corrupt.

Perhaps, but it could simply be someone else did better than you. For example, you could have scored 24/30 and a dozen people scored 25+.

Of course, it'd be better to have individual feedback!

Absolute nonsense.

In not saying that I should've got through because I'm the best. I simply have an issue with no being given individual constructive feedback.

Interview feedback is next to useless anyway, it's full of generalisations that are not legally challengable such as "didn't provide enough depth in the answers" and "did not provide enough evidence" etc.

Maybe. Cheers, plenty of hardwork and preparation going on at the moment in order to pass this assessment centre.

Has anyone been to cardiff yet or is the talent pool still pretty quiet. I suppose the new operating company will be arranging their own tests, been very quiet on all forums regarding any jobs recently.

Several candidates went to Cardiff for their asessments last month. Some of those who were successful will be on a course starting shortly and others have gone into a talent pool. In the meantime, there are more candidates who have been waiting to do the assessments (more people got through the driver manager interviews then they initially had assessment dates for) who have now been given dates later this month to do so.
