Now the Fishguard Harbour boat trains have been retimed with the earlier ferry departure, has this affected what traction is booked for the trains to Fishguard??.

I know when they use to start from Cardiff at 10:57 and then Newport at 10:40 it was usually a Class 150 when I used the service?.

Cheers

That service was booked for a Class 158, and the replacement (11:00 from Swansea) still is.

It was only a Class 150 when they needed to use the Class 158 elsewhere (replacing a defective Class 175).

The daytime service is still booked for a 158 but a 150 often does it. I assume the morning arrival from Pembroke Dock sits in Swansea until the 11.00am departure time to Fishguard.

Does anyone known what runs the evening boat train now?

Either 150 or 153 depending on Summer or Winter. 150 required in Summer on Pembroke Dock working prior to working this.

Thank you for the replies :)

Looking at RTT, it certainly looks like the unit does sit in Swansea after terminating from Pembroke until the 11:00 departure to FGH.

As others have said, but I've seen a 142 on it before too!

Only ever been to Fishguard once on a pacer but this way back in 2002 and was well loaded, certainly bounced a bit especially along the single track section between Clarbeston Road and Fishguard Harbour where it was still jointed track . Can't remember if it's been upgraded since what with the increase in passenger services a couple of years ago.

I used it for the first time last year and believe it was still jointed track then.
