Don't worry everyone, I'm sure Welsh members will once more find something to complain about in North Wales ;)

Also, it wasn't the last TOC to publish them - I keep tabs on them all and am still waiting for Grand Central, Merseyrail, c2c, First Capital Connect, even Virgin Trains.

Indeed complaining got the result, sorry if I was wrong about VT, but ATW have published North Wales VT trains from Dec 9th, so its out somewhere undercover it seems.
Bet this ATW series has been well & trully proof read this time

The 0747 Wrexham-Shrewsbury is no longer shown as a through train to BHM, and the 1002 Chester-Llandudno is no longer being shown as starting from Manchester. This is slightly worrying, specifically the Wrexham one.

I think you misunderstand. The trains are still through trains, they are just no longer shown in the timetables as through trains. This is just a bizarre change in notation. Now the bank holiday gaps are filled, we are very happy with our service. Also, I am not Welsh.

If you refer to Timetable 1 trains from and to Birmingham International with Aberystwyth and Pwllheli portions dividing/combining at Machynlleth are shewn as 2 trains throughout.

I know, and the two trains I mentioned used to be shown as this, but aren't in the new timetables.

Bob,,

Still shown as a through train here, but I can't understand why they would change the timetable, as it was one of the few things that was correct in the last one.

Had a reply from Senior ATW Management about the 0747 ex Wrexham General, see below
Thanks for your feedback. I can confirm that the 0747 Ex Wrexham continues to be direct to Birmingham International. I’ve checked the timetable on-line which appears to be clear.
The BHX services also appear to be showing correctly on the Wrexham – Bidston route.

If there are any other issues which are still not clear, please let me know.

Funny how a railwayman doesn't use the station code, BHI.

This is a copy of my e mail to the Senior Manager at ATW, he replied to me in the way the letter was put to him. I will send you the original reply if you wish as a PM, but I wont give names on an open web site. I had inadvertently read the Saturday Bidston/Wrexham timetable

Name removed

Just a word of thanks for reinstating the Bank Holidays 2021 from Chester to Shrewsbury with effect from 1st Jan.

Just a question is the 0747 Ex Wrexham still direct to Birmingham International?, timetable one is a little vague on this.

Plus one thing we have picked up,just for your info, The Bidston service in table four is NOT showing any BHX, perhaps an oversight.

And the reply so no confusion

He doesn't mean BHX, the airline code for Birmingham Airport, but BHX the railway code for Bank Holidays Excepted...;)
Similarly MIA is Miami to everyone in the travel industry except the railway, who think it is Manchester Airport.

Yeah, I really don't get the obsession with them that you see on this board and the determination for them to be correct - with the exception of some of them being used as a convenient shortcut for TRUST journey enquiries - they do tend to be ignored because they're so bizarre in many cases. A reasonable knowledge of your local/relevant STANOX codes is much more useful! BNS is still Birmingham New Street rather than Barnes to most people in the Midlands.
