Hello,

Since the September timetable change, can people please tell me what normally operates the following services; 150, 158 (2 car), 158 (4 car), 175 (2 car) or 175 (3 car) (not what they are timed for, but what normally actually works them).

0709 Birmingham International - Llandudno
0750 Manchester Piccadilly - Holyhead
0830 Llandudno - Cardiff Central
0850 Manchester Piccadilly - Holyhead
1002 Chester - Llandudno
1050 Manchester Piccadilly - Bangor
1510 Swansea - Chester

Thanks very much, Adam :D

I believe all trains to / from Birmingham are booked 158s, I can't help with the rest, sorry!

As a quick heads up, next month's Today's Railways UK will apparently feature an in-depth article on ATW stock allocation. They've done this for Northern recently and split it down into routes, stating what is booked for what services, including all variations each day. It should certainly clear up a lot of the discussion on here about what is and isn't meant to be a 3-car 175! The issue is due out on Monday 12 November.

07 09 INT = 175/0
07 50 MCR = 175/1
08 30 LLO=175/0
1510 SWA = 175/0 (same as above)
08 50 MCR to HHD - 2x158 splitting at CTR and work
10 02 CTR-LLO

Nobody will give you an answer as to what actually works them. They will guess if they even see them only once. Any alteration to the Diagram depends on day to day availability.

Thanks, thats great :)
I assume the 0830 LLD-CDF 175/0 then works the 1314 CDF-SWA to then work the 1510 back north.
Any idea if the 175 that works the 1050 MAN-BNG is 2 or 3 car?

0850 ex MAN to HHD/LLD today was 2x158 (so I imagine the 0712 ex CTR was the same sets).
I was at WBQ as it passed through at 0926.
The platform PIS correctly showed it splitting at Chester, but the public address only mentioned HHD.
Well filled.

Slightly more surprising was the West Coast Railways class 33 plus two (empty) vintage coaches that paused in the same platform at the same time the ATW was due.
Cue some very odd looks about ATW's new rolling stock policy.
