ATW Fire, Cardiff Central

Evenin' all,

Seems Arriva found themselves with a spontaneously combusting unit earlier today, after one of their 2NXX diagrams caught fire in Cardiff Central station, leading apparently to an evacuation. I'm not familiar with their headcodes but I presume this was a Pacer or 150? Any ideas of the cause?

150s don't have traction motors they are hydro-mechanical transmission.

Arriva seem to have a habbit of fires recently, not just these rail ones but my local Arriva bus company has lost at least 3 buses to fire over the last year.

I'll ask around but 150s definitely don't have traction motors

The only motors on them are the starting motors or at a push the alternators.

It was 150229 which was about to work 2N25, the 1735 Cardiff - Ebbw Vale service.
