ATW conductor gets the Christmas spirit

Nice article in today's Daily Post about an ATW conductor who reunited a little girl from Prestatyn with her Christmas presents. Seems they were left on the train by her father and ended up in Holyhead. The conductor remembered that the father had got off in Prestatyn, sent a text to a colleague living there and asked her to circulate the story around her Facebook friends. Well done.

A little girl’s lost Christmas presents were reunited with her family thanks to Facebook and a kind-hearted train conductor.
Toys from Teegan Jones’ festive wish-list went on a 120-mile detour after they were accidentally left on the train by her father and grandmother after their mammoth shopping spree in Chester.


It wasn’t until they got off they realised the bags containing £150 of Disney must-haves were missing.


Luckily the gifts were spotted by a ticket collector on board who took them to her office in Holyhead .

Knowing the owner of the bags had got off the train at Prestatyn, conductor Mel Hanbury then messaged her friend, Kirsty Hughes, who lives in the town, and asked her to spread the word via social media in a bid to track them down.

Meanwhile, Teegan’s mum, Gemma had also taken to Facebook and Twitter in the hunt for the four-year-old’s toys and soon enough, mutual friends of the pair linked the two posts together....

Brilliant! It is good to have some nice publicity about the good job done by many staff each day that normally go unnoticed by the travelling public.

Very good of the guard. When I first saw the article, I thought it would be an article saying that the guard should be fired accusing him of inappropriate behaviour!

But £150 pounds worth of Frothmas pressies? That seems incredibly...
