For some reason 158831 was being halted at Chester with 150240 waiting to take over on 1J70 (1730 Holyhead-Shrewsbury)

I'd swear blind I saw a refurbished 158 at CDF Central at 1320 on Platform 2 at Cardiff (I heading for Grangetown on 7) though there was 150 on 1.

If it was yesterday the day of my post, I was at Wrexham when I saw it.
Possibly had to be changed at Shrewsbury.
Incidentally, observed 175/0 working 16 15 Maesteg to Cheltenham today indicating many diagrams have gone out of the window recently. Just one shortage or failure can have a domino knock on effect

I was on the 1704 to Tenby and didn't see this; would be 1712 off Central wouldn't it?

On a four-car silver Alphaline 158 today coming down south from Shrewsbury - the leading set in use, dragging a second set with a dead engine in the leading carriage. So that's another 158 out of action for a wee while.
