Going from memory (2 months since I was on one), the reupholstered seats are 158 equivalents, and new carpets were fitted throughout. There wasn't an increase in the number of tables (that I noticed), and the luggage area and internal partiton are identical. I haven't looked for any changes to the toilets, as I usually only use a 153 for the short joirney to the Bay.

I've only used the toilet on a refurbished Arriva 153 once, but there haven't been any major changes - just a general spruce up. Fixtures and fittings are still as they were before refurbishment.

Haven't they gained the chapman seating that was in the 158s before? I know EMT got some also to standardise their SuperSprinter fleet.

I was at Cardiff today and noticed the 142s have the same upholstery design as the 158s... Is this rolling out across the 150 142 and 143 fleet? Quite smart

More of a 'refresh' than a 'refurbishment' on the ATW 153s I think. Certainly not as much of a makeover as the ATW 158s. Legroom and tables are both still in rather short suply on the refreshed 153s, but I think ATW did raise the seats to give short people a view.

The refurb is still in progress - there are some looking very smart and shiny and others which are extremely tatty!
Internally? I think the ATW 153s were refreshed by the time the ATW 158 refurb programme was complete. However, the refresh did not include an external re-paint, which some units seem to have received more recently (ATW's class 150s are getting the 'ATW-WAG livery' also).

Interesting, I wasn't aware of any work to the Pacer fleet. Did the 142 in question have fresh paintwork too?
