Currently the first Atherton line arrival into Manchester (Victoria) is the 05:48 from Wigan, which arrives into Manchester at 06:33, and the last train departure from Manchester is the 22:01 from Victoria; there are long term replacement buses scheduled to leave Victoria at 22:40 and 23:40.

This is very poor really for a suburban Manchester line, particularly when the Bolton and Chorley routes have a train arriving into Manchester Oxford Road at 06:10 and a last train leaving Piccadilly just after midnight. Are there any plans to introduce a morning service from Atherton which arrives into Victoria 30 minutes earlier, and connects with the first Salford Crescent-Piccadilly train? Also will the May timetable see the 22:40 and 23:40 departures from Victoria reinstated as trains? Why is the service currently so poor compared with other suburban lines?

The late night cancellations will be to do with the wiring work?

You should see the Hallam line. Our first service doesn't get into Leeds until 6:40 !
