I do all mine today and passed them all, I was told after MMI but UNOFFICIAL they can’t see why I wouldn’t be offered a place but have to wait for email. #FingersCroosed

Of course aim is to keep on course but if you come off are you penalised?

Have a lot of you come off but still passed?

I came off once probably 4-5 times, came off twice once. Had about half where I didn't come off at all. I passed. I personally found this one easier as I like playing video games. I hope this info helps

If it does exit the track don't panic, just move it back on a and keep going.

If I remember correctly, the practice track is similar or might even be the same as the test track. What I did to get a feeling for it was to do the test multiple times by just going back to the start rather than crossing the finish line to see how sensitive it was and how easy it is to move it back onto the track. I got that advice from this thread and it worked for me.

It didn't happen to me but I've heard if you pull up on the joysticks they will come off so watch for that also.

Forgive me. I started a thread about this earlier but have had no replies. I thought maybe I would be better off posting it in here.

I recently applied for the job of trainee train manager for Chiltern at Birmingham. This morning I received an email to invite me to an assessment day which apparently lasts the whole day. I haven’t received any links to any assessments online. Is this normal? Also, what can I expect from an assessment day? Thanks in advance.

I applied for train driver position for Southend Victoria and did the SJT in November since then have heard nothing. Application still says under consideratio. It seems people are now going on to assessments etc does this mean I’m now out of the process. I am 58 so do you think it’s also my age?

Hi,

I have recently been offered a position at southeastern as a trainee driver starting in January.

I have a medical booked for next month and wondered if anyone on here has been to the medigold assessment in London.

I am worrying as I wear glasses. My vision is fine and I drive daily without glasses but one of my eyes is short sighted without my glasses.

Will this be an issues as I’m panicking now, I’ve heard you wear your glasses during the test but some reassurance would be nice

Please don’t be too concerned as it’s just like any other eye test when you go to the optician, with one eye closed and reading the letters on the board etc

I’m very concerned. The optician was extremely negative about my chances of passing the eye test. I suffer from short sightedness. The optician claimed my unaided eyesight was too far gone. I have the MMI and DMI left to pass and I’m just going with it anyway, if you guys have any words of encouragement I would be grateful, my eyesight with lenses/glasses is excellent. I wear lenses and always have at least one pair of glasses with me.

Someone may correct me but I believe unaided it's something like 3/60 which is roughly the level to be considered legally blind in the UK.

Corrected it goes to 6/12 for the bad eye and 6/9 for the better eye. You could always ask your optician if your unaided and corrected vision meets those levels.

I came off slightly a couple on the first few attempts as i was getting used to how sensitive the controls were, I don't think you should be too concerned I think it's more make sure if you go out you return quickly and carefully (so as not to overshoot and go out the other side)

I felt when I did mine it was not a speed challeng it was a do it as quick as possible but also as carefully as possible. So just don't rush it take your time. It's about speed and precision combined

OPC Safety Awareness Test (SAT)

I was asked to take this test the day before my interview for Avanti Dispatch Platforms. I felt the test went well and was straightforward. I was later told that I didn’t get the job because I failed this test but as my interview was really strong they want me to take it again in 6 months. I’m really not sure how to do it differently, my only concern is that I clicked too many times? All honesty after I finished I was confident. Can anyone help on this?

How would you know about tractions and routes without previous knowledge?

I didn't stay on a single time, and passed. I was quick though and got straight back on etc.

Hi everyone. I got my medical next week and just wanted some guidance. I’ve had an MRI done (for a completely different reason) and it showed I have DDD - essentially I have a bulging disc that is dehydrated and one other disc bulging but not dehydrated.

I wanted to find out whether you think this will be an issue? I’m really anxious. It’s caused me absolutely no pain and it was an accidental finding but I’m still extremely anxious.

I know this has been spoken about a few times, however I want to talk about people’s experiences & results with the DFFT. I found it the trickiest out of the tests. I had to go back on a few questions and make corrections as I found I was reading the wrong diagram etc and found I only answered around 9 questions. How many questions did people answer, and those that passed how many did you manage to answer?
