Hi,

I was just wondering whether the assessment for Shunter (Not Shunter Driver) counts as strike one of two or it is completely independent to the driver's assessment?

Thanks,

Nothing to do with the driver assessment.

Actually I just took the assessment a few weeks ago and they are apart of the driver assessments.

I had to do the Group Bourdon and Train Rules and Procedures Part 1 and 2. I was told by the assessor that they do count towards the drivers assessments.

Only if the post is for Depot Driver (or shunt driver?) will they be the same assessment as these are driving grades. The Shunter position is not a driver grade, as long as it doesn't require driving trains within depot limits.

Well the post I applied for was just a shunter position. And like I said, I done group bourdon and trp 1 and 2 which I was told count towards the driver assessments.

Then the shunter role you applied for equated to the same grade as that of depot driver. Some do, they just call them different names.

Thanks mate. I've been hearing so many different things about whether this role was for ground shunter or depot driver. I'm not really fussed about which one it is but I suppose if it is depot driving, then it's a bonus lol
