Is there a place to 'study' the answers to the questions asked on some of the online job applications? There are scenarios and whilst many sound straight forward, a couple are not.
Or is it just for them to gauge how the applicant thinks?

I think the idea is to answer these yourself as the company is looking to see if you are appropriate for the job, hence why they have these questions, tests, assessments etc.

The idea is to see if a candidate is suitable for a role by seeing how they react to situations, ability to think on their feet and to use real life situations they've dealt with in previous jobs etc.

A lot of railway jobs involve dealing with situations which aren't straight forward every day.

My opinion on all online situation tests, interview questions and OPC tests is that you shouldn't need to revise, know the questions in advance and so on.

The idea is to see if you're suitable for a role, not to see who's capable of giving the right answers because theyve learnt what to say/do to pass the phases of the recruitment process. I'm told you often find a lot of people who do just this then get offered a role and struggle.

Hope this helps!

Thanks to your replies!
Questions are straightforward but a couple seem like trick questions as they are related to company policy which I guess you'd only find out at training. Interesting though.

Assessments are designed to be completed with no prior rail or company experience.

The way you answer is based on situations, which you may have similar experience to in your life.

It's purely to find out what your attitude & mind set is when faced with an issue
