Assessment day

Hi all

I've got the driver assessment day coming up at Doncaster, has anybody recently done it there and can give me an idea of how the day is structured and what is it like.
Also it says the dress code is smart but comfortable I'm unsure if I should wear a suit or not, I would prefer not to as it's a full day of assessment but wouldn't want to get marked down if I didn't.

There’s a plethora of topics here on this very subject so it’s probably best to do a search on it. Regarding the dress code, I’d wear at the very least a shirt, trousers and smart shoes. I tend to always wear a suit at these things, or a suit without a jacket at least.

You’ll unlikely be marked down on attire at this stage, but you’ll raise eyebrows if you turn up in jean, t-shirt and trainers.

It’s all about the impression you give, and you want to come across as professional at all stages of the process.

The email should explain how the day is going to pan out. Also the pratice emails explains about the different tests. Then jus research it on here for example type in the search button tea occ, trp etc. Also have a look at the sticky threads.

Got mine this week. Shirt, Tie and clean shoes are a must from me.

The practice materials are good, and they tell you what to expect in the test, with some slightly different test to practice on

I was going to go in trousers shirt and tie anyway but wasnt sure if to wear the whole suit or not.
I was offered this week but was unable to attend so I'm in next week.

Depends, I had my stage 1 at the toc office so there was about 30-40. Stage 2 was at Watford and had 6. If everything is on the same day then should be under 10. If its just stage 1 then they could be a lot.

Chances are you'll be too hot to wear the jacket anyway depending on the room temperature

I had my assessment day in Doncaster just over a month ago and it is definitely a long day! The tests are long and then if you pass them, the MMI at the end is quite intense.

All the info you need about the day is in the pack they send you, and there is lots of info on this forum, you just need to search for it. Main things are to practice, get a good nights sleep, and to try and relax on the day.

And you'd be fine in a shirt, trousers, and smart shoes. Main thing is to be professional and to present yourself well.

Well done, how did you find the day? Is the MMI similar to the DMI? I was nearly on today's assessment but I'm on next week instead.

The day is tough, but listen to assessor, read in the notes how the tests will go and you’ll be fine! Also prepare well some great examples for MMI! They pull them to bits, but keep a cool head and you’ll be fine

Thanks for that only had my DMI last week so things are pretty fresh in my head. I'm going to get some revising done this weekend to sharpen up.

Can i ask you, in watford, is it the exact same questions everyone gets asked, or is it 6 out of possible list of questions like in the photos ive added (which i found on another thread) got my stage 2 assessments this coming Tuesday and feel confident with the psychometrics, just not all that confident on the MMI....

I did my MMI with ARL last year and was asked the 6 in the first photo, albeit slightly different wording on some of them.

I wouldn’t count on it being them 6 all the time though.

How many questions did you get ask about and what type of questions was they? was it similar to DMI but a bit more in depth?
